Trans-Canada highway closures from B.C. rock slide will continue over weekend

There will continue to be intermittent closures of the Trans-Canada Highway near Field, B.C., this weekend.

Crews are working to clean debris and stabilize a cliff after rock slide shut down roadway

The rock slide was triggered by contractors drilling holes to place explosives at the rock scaling site, approximately 16 kilometres west of Field, B.C. (Parks Canada)

There will continue to be intermittent closures of the Trans Canada Highway near Field, B.C., this weekend.

A rock slide closed the highway on Monday and crews are busy stabilizing the slope and cleaning debris.

On Sunday, it's expected a temporary lane already in place will be paved. 

Parks Canada said single lane, alternating traffic will continue over the weekend, with two-way traffic resuming as early as next week.
