Snowboarder dies at Sunshine after collision with tree
A man in his 20s has died after colliding with a tree Monday afternoon at Sunshine Village.
It is not known if the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash
A young man is dead after a collision with a tree at Sunshine Village.
Spokesperson Crosbie Cotton says the man, who was in his 20s, was on a beginner's run when he hit the tree late Monday afternoon.
STARS air ambulance was called in to the hill but the man succumbed to his injuries before the helicopter arrived.
Cotton says it is not known if the man was wearing a ski helmet at the time of the accident.
The snowboarder's identity has not been released.
