Police say they found homemade bombs along with firearms, ammunition and drugs after a raid on a home south of Calgary, resulting in 138 gang-related charges.

Calgary Police and RCMP officers searched the house, which had a sophisticated video surveillance system, in Heritage Pointe at about 6 p.m. Monday.

Five people, all in their 20s, are facing drug and weapons charges, police said Tuesday.

"Within the residence, police located four homemade bombs, two shotguns, one semi-automatic pistol, an assault rifle, body armour, as well as a quantity of hashish, cocaine, marijuana and ecstasy. All of the firearms were either loaded or had ammunition with the firearm," police said in a release.

Police want to seize the home and $20,000 under the new Alberta law that allows the courts to seize and auction property connected to crime.
