A school-aged girl is in life-threatening condition after a tree fell on her approximately 70 kilometres northwest of Calgary.
Emergency services got the call just before 11:45 a.m. Monday and found the girl with some adults at Highway 40 and Pears Road, just west of Waiparous, said spokesperson Adam Loria.
The girl was assessed and stabilized on scene and was later flown to Alberta Children's Hospital by STARS.
She is in critical condition.
It is not known how old she is, where she was when the tree fell on her, what happened that caused the tree to fall on her, or whether the accompanying adults were her parents.
