Man found dead after residential fire in Bowness

A man was found dead in a residence following a fire in northwest Calgary early Thursday.

No other injuries reported in early morning blaze

A man was found dead in a residence following a fire in northwest Calgary early Thursday.

The fire department received calls around 5 a.m. about a multi-residential building on fire in Bowness.

Crews found significant smoke and flames coming from one suite when they arrived, the Calgary Fire Department said in a release. 

The body was found after the fire was brought under control and crews were able to search the suite.

No other injuries were reported, and other residents evacuated safely from the four other occupied units of the 12-suite building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
