Are you a performer looking for a stage? We're hosting an open mic night with The Alcove Centre for the Arts, Madhuban Performing Arts and Urban Society For Aboriginal Youth (USAY) on Thursday, July 20 at ContainR in Sunnyside and are looking for local comedians, musicians, poets and entertainers to showcase their talents.
The evening will include feature performances by our partners, a stand up comedy set by our emcee for the evening and host of the Calgary Eyeopener, Loren McGinnis, raffle prizes, frozen treats from Holy Cow Gelato & Donuts and food and drink from Not Just Curry food truck.

Through innovative programs, meaningful collaborations and storytelling rooted in authenticity, USAY is shaping a brighter future for Indigenous youth.
Tribe Artist Society is a dynamic Indigenous-led hip hop and arts organization dedicated to empowering artists and unleashing their true potential. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to cultivate a thriving community of artists by providing coaching, education and mentorship opportunities. Dwight Good Eagle Farahat from Tribe Artist Society will be representing USAY with a feature performance.
