Suspect sought after senior robbed, thrown down stairs in northeast Calgary
Woman in her 70s was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police say
Calgary police are appealing to the public for help identifying a man accused of robbing a senior in her own home two days before Christmas.
The incident happened in the 200 block of Whiteview Road N.E. on Dec. 23, police said in a news release Wednesday as they released images of the suspect.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m, a woman in her 70s opened her door to a man she recognized from a previous visit, when he asked for donations.
Police say the man was not associated with any charity.
This time, the victim let the man into her home. Police say he grabbed the woman's purse and tried to go through it.
During the struggle for the purse, the woman was thrown down a flight of stairs, police said.
The man fled and the victim called police.
She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Calgary police or Crime Stoppers.
