Man, 20, accused of killing his mother in northwest Calgary
Murder charges have been laid in connection with the suspicious death of a woman in the northwest Calgary community of St. Andrew Heights on Friday.
56-year-old woman found dead in St. Andrews Heights home on Friday
A murder charge has been laid in the death Friday of a woman in the northwest Calgary community of St. Andrew Heights.
Police were called at approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday to the 1400 block of 29th Street N.W. after receiving reports of a deceased woman.
Officers found the body of Alice Jingying AI, 56, inside the residence.
A man was taken into custody at the scene.
Alex Xu, 20, has now been been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his mother.
He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
This is Calgary's 10th homicide and second domestic-related homicide of 2023.
