Calgary man faces fine in accident involving Olympian
A Calgary man has been charged in connection with a biking accident that injured a former Olympian.
Biathlete Robin Clegg was training with a group of cyclists west of the city last month when he says a car cut them off.
RCMP said Clegg then ran into the passenger side of the vehicle, breaking his clavicle and elbow.
Jason Rudolph, 21, has been given a $115 ticket for failing to return to his lane safely after passing.
He has a court date scheduled for Nov. 23.
A statement released by Clegg's family says he's not happy with the RCMP's version of events, and they are looking for more information on why the driver was issued a traffic ticket.
Clegg's family also said he is recovering from his injuries, including reconstructive surgery to his elbow.
