Calgary Catholic School District calls off late-entry pilot project
Board says it has taken parent and staff feedback into consideration

A one-year pilot project by the Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) allowing a later start-time for students once a week has been scrapped.
In a statement posted to its website, CCSD said that after listening to feedback, it would not proceed with the proposed, late-entry pilot project.
"We have overwhelmingly heard from our parents/guardians and staff, and we are listening," read the statement.
The pilot was intended to run during the 2024-2025 school year.
CCSD had put forward that students at all grade levels would start later in the morning one day a week, while teachers would start at their regular time and use those non-teaching hours for professional development.
Several parents of CCSD students told CBC that they were not happy with the scheme, with some concerned about potential increased child-care costs.
