Suspicious death of Calgary woman, 31, now deemed an accident
Police believe Amanda Antoni fell down the stairs
Calgary police say the death of Amanda Antoni in her Castleridge house last year has been ruled accidental.
The 31-year-old's body was discovered on Oct. 26, 2015 by her husband, when he came home after being out of town for a few days.
Police believe Antoni had been dead for two days.
Initially, police said there were signs of a violent incident in the home and called the situation "very suspicious."
Following an investigation by the homicide unit, police now believe Antoni fell down the stairs.
The conclusion was reached after consulting multiple experts, Calgary police said in a news release on Tuesday.
In a statement released shortly after her death, Antoni's family said they were devastated by the loss.
"Amanda was a beautiful person who was taken from this world way too soon," the family said.
"Whether it was buying a meal for someone who was hungry and could not afford food, or brightening someone's day with her amazing smile, laugh, or kindness, she was an inspiration to those who knew her."
