Calgarians advised to stay off local rivers this weekend

With the long weekend around the corner and decent weather in the forecast, officials are reminding Calgarians the river advisory is still in place.

That means any type of boating activity — including rafting — is strongly discouraged.

Officials say the water is cold, and there is lots of debris in both rivers right now — making visibility extremely poor.

People who do choose to raft over the weekend will be seeing police along the banks as they ensure laws are being followed.
