Alberta byelection set for Oct. 24 to replace late MP Jim Hillyer
Voters in the southern Alberta riding of Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner will go to the polls on Oct. 24 to choose a new Member of Parliament after Conservative Jim Hillyer died of a heart attack in the spring.

Voters in the southern Alberta riding of Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner will be heading back to the polls next month.
A byelection has been called for Oct. 24 following the death of former Member of Parliament Jim Hillyer earlier this year.
The 41-year-old Conservative MP died of a heart attack in March.
So far, three candidates have announced they are running.
This will be the first of three byelections in Alberta in the coming months. Stephen Harper resigned his Calgary seat last month and Jason Kenney is expected to do the same this week.
