Boy, 4, drowns in Alberta pond

A four-year-old boy has drowned in a pond south of Olds, Alta.

RCMP say the child was found by a family member, face down in the pond at a rural property Sunday evening. He was taken to Alberta Children's Hospital but later died.

Police say the boy and his family are from the U.S. They were in the area for a family reunion.

Olds is an hour's drive north of Calgary.
