Albertans encouraged to share condo experiences
Service Alberta Minister Manmeet Bhullar gathers feedback as the province looks to revamp condo act
Albertans are getting a chance to help develop rules about the way condominiums are owned and managed in the province.
A public consulation process is underway to make changes to the province's Condominium Property Act.
Service Alberta Minister Manmeet Bhullar says he is hoping to hear from a wide variety of people.
"Everybody and anybody — so this is owners, this is renters," he said.
"I've got people who said, 'You know, I used to live in a condo and my experience was so negative that I really feel that I still owe it to somebody to give them my thoughts.' And I welcome them. That's what I'm looking for here is the opinions of everyday Albertans."
The consultation process started in mid-February and runs until April 2.
"This is a really important issue," said Bhullar. "About 20 per cent of all the homes sold in Alberta last year were condos, and so it's really, really important we get a lot of responses."
