Alberta's warm winter prompts '5th season' name ideas
'Hollywood would love a 'Godzilla El Nino meeting the Pacific Blob.' It sounds like a horror movie.'
With an uncharacteristically warm winter in Alberta, could it be time to consider naming the "fifth season" we're experiencing?
Alberta boasted the warmest temperature in Canada today around 12:30 p.m. with a balmy 13 C in Pincher Creek, according to Environment Canada's senior climatologist Dave Phillips.
On Tuesday Calgary surpassed a 90-year-old weather record to set a new high for the day.

CBC's Alberta at Noon challenged Phillips to come up with a name for this unusual weather season.
"I'm not as creative as your listeners. Something like pineapple winter?" he said.
He then joked that "Hollywood would love a 'Godzilla El Nino meeting the Pacific Blob.' It sounds like a horror movie."
"I'm sure there's some kind of contraction that your listeners could suggest out of that," he said, throwing it to the audience to chime in.
While no one tried their hand at that one, several people joined in on the brainstorm:
