Toddler dies after being struck by father's vehicle in Saanich driveway

A two-year old girl has died after she was struck by a minivan in the driveway of a home in Saanich, B.C.
The toddler's father was exiting the driveway of the home on Beckwith Avenue around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday when the accident occurred, Saanich Police said.
The family, police and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but the child succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
"This is a horrible tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with the family," said Saanich police Sgt. Jereme Leslie in a statement.
The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating the death.
