Surrey Six murders: Justin Haevischer charged with helping killers escape
Haevischer is charged with helping his brother Cody Haevischer and Matthew Johnston escape after 2007 slayings

The brother of one of the men convicted in the Surrey Six slaying will be spending Christmas in jail facing a charge for helping the convicted killers escape after the crime.
Justin Lee Haevischer made a brief appearance without a lawyer in BC Supreme Court on Wednesday morning and was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
He did not enter a plea and told the judge he did not understand the charge, after it was read in court. He was held in custody and told by the judge to get a lawyer for his next court appearance on Jan. 7.
Haevischer was arrested Monday on a Canada wide warrant after reportedly causing a disturbance at the Edmonton International airport.
He's accused of helping his brother Cody Haevischer and Matthew Johnston escape, knowing the pair had just executed six men in a Surrey apartment in 2007.
Cody Haevischer and Johnston were each found guilty of six counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to murder earlier this year and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
