A Vancouver man's death on a remote logging road on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast is being investigated as a homicide.

Henry Doyle, 58, was found injured Saturday on the Klein Lake Forest Service Road, near the small village of Egmont, B.C., according to a spokesperson with the RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).

The Vancouver resident's dirt bike was nearby, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said.

"First responders arrived on scene and provided emergency first aid but, sadly, the victim succumbed to his injuries," Pierotti said in a statement Tuesday.

After consultation with the B.C. Coroners Service, "the man's death was determined to be suspicious," he added.

Doyle was the president and chair of the board of directors of the Dental Industry Association of Canada and is being remembered as an "esteemed leader" by his colleagues.

The association released a statement Wednesday expressing shock and sadness at Doyle's sudden death.

"On behalf of our members and the Canadian dental industry as a whole, we offer our deepest sympathies to Henry's family and friends. He will be truly missed," the statement said.

The area where Doyle was found is at the northern tip of the Sechelt Peninsula, roughly 80 kilometres northwest of Vancouver.

Police are asking any witnesses or anyone travelling in the Klein Lake area of Sechelt to contact them.
