Traffic back moving on Highway 40 after Lillooet B.C. rock slide
Vehicles are back moving along highway 40 outside of Lillooet B.C. in single-lane alternating traffic after a rock slide closed the roadway for hours Nov. 15.
No one hurt in slide which covered both lanes of roadway, 25 kms north of town
Vehicles are back moving along highway 40 outside of Lillooet B.C. in single-lane alternating traffic after a rock slide closed the roadway for hours Nov. 15.
RCMP said the slide had covered the entire two lanes of the road and described it as 1.5 metres deep and nine metres wide. It is impacting traffic from Gold Bridge to 23 kilometres west of the junction with Highway 99.
The rubble blocked access from Lillooet to places such as Seton, Gold Bridge and Bralorne, unless drivers used Hurley Rd., said RCMP.
Crews are assessing the safety of the rock face, and clearing the road.
