Richmond pedestrian critically injured after getting run over, trapped under car
RCMP say man trapped underneath car after 18-year-old drove her Volkswagen off the road and into a lamp post
A 22-year-old Richmond man is in hospital clinging to life after he was struck while standing at the side of the road near No. 3 Road and Alderbridge Way around 9 a.m. Saturday.
Richmond RCMP say an 18-year-old Kamloops woman drove her 1990 Volkswagen off the road, trapping the man underneath her car as she struck a lamp post. The woman suffered minor injuries.
According to police, the man was not on the road when he was hit.
Emergency personel worked to free the man from the wreckage and he was sent to hospital with critical injuries.
The debris field from the crash was large and the surrounding area was closed for many hours.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
