Missing senior found safe in Maple Ridge

A woman reported missing in Maple Ridge last night has been found safe and in good health and is now back with her family, say police.

The missing woman was spotted by resident on his property around 6 a.m.

A woman reported missing in Maple Ridge last night has been found safe and in good health and is now back with her family, say police.

She was spotted by a resident on his property around 6 a.m. PT Wednesday, according to the RCMP, and located by police walking down 123 Avenue a short while later.

Search volunteers were called around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to search for the woman, who was last seen in the area around Laity Street and 122 Avenue.

Del Doornbosch with Ridge Meadows SAR said the woman was planning to go for a walk with her son-in-law, but she set out on her own. The woman speaks only Mandarin and is relatively new to the Maple Ridge area, according to Doornbosch.
