In a strange case of lost and found, police have helped reunite a woman with her missing prosthetic leg in Penticton, B.C.

Someone dropped off an artificial limb, with running shoe and sock, at the RCMP detachment on Saturday.

On Monday, a city bylaw officer came across a woman in an electric scooter who was missing a prosthetic limb.

Corp. Don Wigglesworth reunited the woman with her property.

"She was kinda grumpy until she saw her leg," said Wigglesworth. "It was a bit of a Cinderella story, because the leg fit and the running shoe matched the one she had on her good leg."

Wigglesworth says the woman had left the leg on the beach when she went into Okanagan Lake for a swim, but when she got out of the water, it was gone.
