One dead and three injured in Maple Ridge, B.C. accident

Cause of crash unknown, but police say weather might have played a factor

Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating after a fatal accident on Golden Ears Way on Tuesday afternoon. 

It happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. on the stretch of road between Lougheed Highway and 203 Street, when a northbound SUV and southbound SUV collided head-on.

Three people survived and were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but one person died at the scene. 

An RCMP spokesperson said weather might have been a factor, but it's unknown at this time what caused the crash.

The road was closed for some time as crews cleared the scene and investigated the accident.
