Police arrest 3 men and identify man stabbed to death in Mission
RCMP say homicide appears to have no connection to gang conflict, 3 men have been arrested
Police have arrested three men and identified the man stabbed to death in Mission Monday afternoon as 26-year-old David Leggat.
Police said they arrested one man shortly after the stabbing and two others on Tuesday. No charges have been laid.
Officers and paramedics responded just after 3:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a man suffering from stab wounds in the 7200 block of Park Street.
Emergency first aid was administered, but the man died from his injuries, according to a statement by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
The homicide appears to be an isolated incident, with no ties to the Lower Mainland gang conflict, said RCMP Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.
RCMP say they are awaiting a search warrant for a residence in Mission but are identifying the victim in case the public has information that may assist their investigation.
"We urge anyone who knew Mr. Leggat to speak with police," said Pierotti. "Witnesses are asked to contact IHIT or attend the Mission RCMP detachment."
Police are asking anyone who has information about the incident or dashcam video of the area from Monday afternoon to call the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-4448.
