Luka Gordic, Whistler stabbing victim, identified by family
19-year-old was stabbed Saturday night in Whistler village and died from his injuries
Family members have identified the man killed in Whistler this weekend as 19-year-old Luka Gordic from Burnaby, B.C.
The young man was found with multiple stab wounds shortly after midnight Sunday morning in Whistler village, according to RCMP. He was taken to a local clinic, but died of his injuries.
Police have not yet released the name of the victim, but Gordic's cousin and aunt confirmed his death.
Whistler RCMP said they made several arrests "within minutes" of the stabbing, due to increased police presence over the May long weekend.
The BC Coroners Service and Integrated Homicide Investigation team are now investigating.
The following night, in an unrelated incident, another 19-year-old man from the Lower Mainland was also stabbed in Whistler, near midnight.
Whistler RCMP is investigating that incident, and asking for the public's help with any information.
