Driver facing alcohol-related charges after Surrey pedestrian struck by vehicle
Police in Surrey say a man in his late 30s is facing alcohol-related charges after a woman was hit by a car crossing the street at 72 Avenue and 144 Street.

Police in Surrey, B.C. say a man in his late 30s is facing alcohol-related charges after a woman was hit by a car crossing the street at 72 Avenue and 144 Street.
Around 11:30 a.m., Sunday police said they arrested the driver of a Dodge pickup truck. Officers say he had tried to flee the scene and backed into a car behind the truck.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her upper body. Police say she is expected to make a full recovery.
Surrey RCMP said it is recommending a charge of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
Sgt. Dale Carr said there could also be other alcohol-related charges.
