Ring in the Year of the Snake on Feb. 2

CBC Lunar New Year 2024
(CBC)

Ring in the Year of the Snake with your favourite local CBC personalities at the Chinatown Spring Festival Parade on Sunday, February 2!

Kick off Lunar New Year celebrations in Vancouver's historical Chinatown with a lively parade featuring traditional lion and dragon dances, cultural dance troupes, marching bands, martial arts performances and fun for the whole family.

Dive into the spirit of the Lunar New Year with New Year is Here 過年在這, a vibrant new song from Jade Music Festival's Red Music Envelope project. Created by four talented local musicians, the song beautifully embodies well wishes, connection to Asian heritage, and strength in diversity for the new year. Let's sing along at the parade together!

The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. PT, and you can catch us along the 1.3 km route that starts at the Millennium Gate on Pender Street (between Shanghai Alley and Taylor Street), proceeds east along Pender Street, turns south onto Gore Street, turns west onto Keefer Street and then disperses on Keefer at Abbott Street.

We look forward to celebrating the Lunar New Year with you on February 2!
