Man critically injured in Abbotsford shooting

An 18-year-old man is in police custody in Abbotsford after a shooting that critically injured another man.

Police arrest 18-year-old, say incident is not gang-related

An 18-year-old man is in police custody in Abbotsford after a shooting that critically injured another man.

Abbotsford police say they were called to a residence in the 2500 block of Birch Street on Sunday just after 6 p.m. PT.

The victim, who is in his early 20s, was treated by paramedics for an apparent gunshot wound.

Police say he is now in hospital in critical condition.

Officers also say that the man arrested and the victim know each other. They don't believe the incident is gang-related.

The Abbotsford Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the force or Crime Stoppers.
