Three men have been charged with the first-degree murder of Prince George, B.C. resident Jordan Taylor McLeod, who was reported missing earlier this year.

Darren Sundman, 33, Kurtis Sundman, 26, and Sebastian Martin, 42, all from Vanderhoof, were arrested over the weekend and charged. RCMP say the murder was pre-meditated.

"It's not altogether uncommon. Sometimes people team up, so to speak. Because of the pre-meditated aspect ... this was targeted," said RCMP Cpl Craig Douglass.

McLeod was last seen Jan. 16 and reported missing three days later. On that same day, police also responded to reports of shots been fired on Upper Fraser Road near Highway 16. When they investigated they found evidence that someone had been injured, however no victim or suspects were located at the time.

Police later linked McLeod's disappearance with the incident, saying they believed he was the victim of foul play, and issued descriptions of two vehicles.

In February a man walking his dog off the Kaykay Forest Service Road northwest of the city found some human remains.

In March police confirmed the remains were McLeod's, and that he was the victim of a homicide.

McLeod's accused killers include two brothers from Vanderhoof. Kurtis Sundman served jail time for confining a man in Merritt and beating him with a 30-pound dumbbell over stolen marijuana. His older brother, Darren, has convictions for drug possession and counterfeiting.

The brothers were already in police custody awaiting trial on charges of assault, extortion, and making threats when they were charged in connection to McLeod's death.
