One person is dead and another is in hospital after a shooting in North Surrey Friday night.
RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 11300-block of Alpen Place, a quiet cul-de-sac, just before 9 p.m.
Officers found one person dead at the scene and a second person suffering from gunshot wounds.
The second victim was transported to hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is examining the scene for evidence.
'I'm tired of the syringes'
Police are looking to speak to any witnesses to the attack, which they say appears to have been targeted.
There is no word if any arrests have been made.
Andre Sueter lives close to where the incident took place.
"I'm kind of tired of all the shootings in Surrey," Sueter said. "I'm tired of guns, I'm tired of the syringes on the streets."
He says he heard several shots in quick succession.
Kody Fraser also lives nearby. Fraser said he thought the gunshots were fireworks at first.
"As soon as we heard the helicopters going around, we kind of figured something was going on," he said.
