Police charge 4th person in connection with Douglasdale death
Body discovered after February house fire in southeast Calgary
Police have charged a fourth person in the death of a Calgary man whose body was discovered after a house fire in the southeast community of Douglasdale in February.
Investigators said Thursday they have charged Justin Alan Urban, 32, with first-degree murder.
Chad Kowalchuk, 53, was found after firefighters responded to a residence in the southeast neighbourhood of Douglasdale on Feb. 18. The discovery sparked what police called a complex investigation.
Earlier this month, Kowalchuk's family issued a public plea for people to come forward with any information about his death. They described the man as a "fun-loving and caring person."
Urban now joins three others charged in connection to the death.
Last month, police arrested Justin Angus Boucher, 30, of Calgary. He faces first-degree murder and arson charges.
Ronald Leon Abraham, 41, of Calgary, was arrested this month and charged with first-degree murder. Robert Wayne Sims, 30, was arrested last week in B.C. on a Canada-wide warrant and charged with first-degree murder.
