Even if you've never tried it, you probably recognize the silk screening style from those iconic celebrity portraits created by the one and only Andy Warhol. The best part about it? You can use the handy technique to layer and duplicate words or shapes on whatever canvas you choose, making for a truly intricate work of art that looks totally professional. That's why Steven's applying it to everything these days, and now you can too!
Here's what you'll need to follow along:
- Silk screen sheets (can be found at fine art supply stores)
- Template of the image you'd like to use
- Permanent marker
- Screen filler (can be found at fine art supply stores)
- Soft paint brushes
- Screen printing ink in colours of your choice
- Hair dryer
- Masking tape (you may need several rolls for this project)
- Painter's tape
- Silk screen squeegee (can be found at fine art supply stores)
- Paper towel
- Large sheets of paper
