Manitoba business: We need workers!
Two national surveys show Manitoba business owners are the most concerned in the country when it comes to a shortage of skilled workers.
The surveys, conducted by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, found that a total of 12,000 unfilled positions exist in small and medium-sized firms in the province.
Fifty-nine per cent of Manitobans who responded to the survey said the problem is a major concern.
Nationally, an average of 46% of small business respondents answered that a shortage of skilled labourers was a problem.
