Have you seen Hudson yet?
Good day Heartlanders, I hope you're doing well under these strange conditions of late. Over the course of the blog lately, I've been bringing back some classic Heartland videos for you to enjoy (and I hope you liked revisiting them as much as I did!).
Well, what I'd like to revisit this week is something a few of you may not have watched yet -- and I guarantee you if you're a Heartland fan, you need to check it out… the Heartland digital original series Hudson!
Hudson launched last year on CBC Gem, and consists of six episodes, each roughly 10 minutes long or so. It follows the exploits of Jade (Madison Cheeatow), whose opportunity for a promotion is put in jeopardy when the new girl in town shows up full of energy and bright ideas.
"In Hudson I got to do quite a bit more with my character," said Cheeatow when talking to Postmedia last year.
"You get to see a little bit of her that you don't really see in Heartland, her friendships with other people that don't get explored in Heartland."
All combined together, the episodes run the length of an average Heartland episode. And who doesn't want more Heartland, right? But don't expect something exactly like the series, as Hudson is it's own creation, and tends to be a bit funnier and faster-paced than what Heartland viewers may be used to.
Plus, Heartland fans may also spot a few cameos and friendly faces they recognize along the way.
And if you need any more incentive to check out Hudson, you'll be pleased to know that both Sandi Somers and Heartland's own Michelle Morgan, who plays Lou on Heartland, directed 3 episodes of the series each!
If you're already a Hudson fan, and you'd like to take a look behind-the-scenes at the series, please check out this blog post I did before, in case you missed it!
Unfortunately for our international fans in the U.S. and around the world, CBC Gem is only accessible in Canada.

Now, onto a bit of housekeeping…
I know the question of season 14 continues to loom in your minds (as well as my own). However, at this point I do not have any info to share with you. As always, once I have information that I can share either way, I'll let you know.
Secondly, the folks over at the CBC Television feed are looking to hear from fans. Do you consider yourself an extraordinary fan of Heartland? Why and what have you done to show how much you love Heartland: artwork, themed parties or anything unusual?
If that's you, leave a comment on the blog, or if you have something more substantial to contribute, please drop them a line at [email protected].
Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoy watching Hudson!
