'90s trivia! Son of a Critch stars test their knowledge
CBC comedy series Son of a Critch heads into a new decade. We quizzed its young actors about the era.

It's the '90s! No, not for real but Mark Critch and the rest of the family from CBC comedy series Son of a Critch are about to step into a new era in Season 4.
The '90s were the time of grunge, alt-rock, indie cinema (remember Pulp Fiction?) and iconic TV shows like Friends and The Simpsons. It was the dawn of the information age when we all began to connect online and the Internet was still a new thing. Nelson Mandela was elected president of South Africa, the cod fishing industry collapsed in Newfoundland and the trial of OJ Simpson dominated the news cycle.
In Son of a Critch Season 4, young Mark starts high school in St. John's Newfoundland and in this milestone year, he bids so long to his '80s childhood and hello to a brand new decade!
Young Mark is played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, born in 2008. Colton Gobbo, who plays his older brother Mike Jr., was born in 2000. How much do these young actors actually know about the decade before smartphones? We got their TV parents (Mark Critch and Claire Rankin) to quiz them on important cultural moments of the '90s. Watch the video below to see how they do.
Relive all of the '90s nostalgia on Season 4 of Son of a Critch, now streaming on CBC Gem.
