Canadian Matt Sharpe wins silver at Triathlon Oceania Cup
Emotional victory comes after two years of battling injuries
Victoria's Matt Sharpe captured a silver medal Sunday at the Triathlon Oceania Cup in Mooloolaba, Australia on Sunday.
Sharpe, 23, finished the event in one hour 50 minutes 52 seconds. His result was an emotional one as the 23-year-old has battled injuries the last two years.

"I've been either injured or rehabbing since early 2013 and only since last fall have I been able to train uninterrupted," he said. "I'm grateful for the support from my family, my coach Jamie Turner and my training partners in the Wollongong Wizards squad because there's no way I'd be here without them.
"I was expecting a good result today. My training has been strong over the last couple of months and I believed I could win."
Australia's Daniel Coleman won the race in 1:50:25 while compatriot Tobin White was third in 1:50:56.
The Triathlon Oceania Cup is a development race which often welcomes World Cup and World Triathlon Series athletes.
