Team Canada inspiration: Melissa Bishop on teammate Brianne Theisen-Eaton

CBC Sports asked track and field athlete Melissa Bishop who on Team Canada - past or present, summer or winter - inspires her most and why. Her answer was Brianne Theisen-Eaton because of her performance at her first Games in London 2012.

Despite competing in different events, heptathlete and 800-metre runner bond over shared struggles

We asked Canadian athletes who on Team Canada — past or present, summer or winter — inspired them, and why. Then we tracked down the chosen athlete to have them respond.

The result is powerful and personal, showing every athlete can find inspiration from another no matter how different their sport or their experience.

Melissa Bishop found her inspiration close to home: the 800-metre runner chose one of her track and field teammates.
