The Phoenix Coyotes are a step closer to securing their future in Arizona.
Glendale City Council has voted 5-2 to approve the Jobing.com Arena's new lease agreement with prospective Coyotes owner Matthew Hulsizer.
"The Phoenix Coyotes are very pleased that Glendale City Council voted this evening to support the new Jobing.com Arena lease agreement between Matthew Hulsizer and the City of Glendale," the Coyotes said in a statement.
"This vote is another step towards securing our future in Glendale and we remain optimistic that a deal will be finalized soon."
Hulsizer's bid for the Coyotes still needs to be approved by the NHL's board of governors.
