NHL playoffs: Overtime magic

The Stanley Cup playoffs feature their fair share of drama, and nothing is more dramatic than a win in overtime. Here's a look at the thrill of victory and agony of defeat from sudden-death action in 2016.

June 4: Sharks 3, Penguins 2

After beating Evgeni Malkin for the puck behind the Pittsburgh net, Joonas Donskoi came out toward the left face-off circle and fired on Penguins goalie Matt Murray, the shot beating the crouching netminder high and reducing the Sharks series deficit to 2-1.

June 1: Penguins 2, Sharks 1

Sidney Crosby won the draw back to Kris Letang who fed the puck to Conor Sheary, who fired a wrist shot over Martin Jones's left shoulder, giving Pittsburgh a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

T.J. Oshie completed a hat trick in overtime to give the Washington Capitals a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. 

His goal 9:33 into the extra frame stood up after video review once it was definitively shown that the puck went over the goal line.
