Alex Burrows cleared to fly home with Canucks after Game 6
Injured forward in Calgary since Tuesday
Canucks forward Alex Burrows is healthy enough to return to Vancouver with the team after his extended stay in Calgary.
Head coach Willie Desjardins said prior to Saturday's Game 6 of the team's playoff series against the Flames that the injured Burrows was well enough to fly.
Burrows had remained in Calgary after abruptly leaving Tuesday morning's skate in pain. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital in an ambulance and released that evening as the Canucks fell 3-1 to the Flames in Game 4.
Burrows did not accompany his teammates on the return trip to Vancouver. The Canucks won the fifth game at home to extend the series.
If Game 7 is necessary, it will be played Monday in Vancouver.
The Burrows injury was reported to be a broken rib, although the Canucks have not confirmed it. The team has said he's out for the series with an upper-body injury.
"He's back. He was at the hotel last night," Desjardins said Saturday. "I got to see him again. He'll probably be at the game tonight later on. He's going to come back with us after the game."
Burrows has two assists in three playoff games and had 33 points (18-15) in 70 regular-season games.
