Flyers sign defenceman Steve Eminger to 1-year deal
The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenceman Steve Eminger to a one-year deal on Sunday.
"Steve is a young two-way defenceman that will fit in nicely with our group," said general manager Paul Holmgren in a statement.
Financial terms were not released.
The Flyers recently acquired the 24-year-old Eminger and a third-round pick in the 2008 NHL draft from the Washington Capitals. The Capitals received Philadelphia's first-round pick at last week's draft as part of the deal.
"I'm happy to get the deal worked out and excited about being part of the organization," said Eminger.
"I can't wait for the start of the season to get things going."
Eminger had two assists and eight penalty minutes in 20 regular season games for the Capitals last season.
In 212 career regular season games over five NHL seasons with Washington, Eminger has six goals and 43 points.
Eminger was drafted in 2002 by the Capitals in the first round, 12th overall.
