Boston centre Marc Savard has suffered another concussion, weeks after returning to the Bruins lineup after a long battle with post-concussion syndrome.

Savard left Saturday's game in Colorado following a hit by former teammate Matt Hunwick early in the second period. He flew back to Boston on Sunday to be evaluated by team doctors.

Savard, 33, had returned to the lineup Dec. 2 after missing training camp and the first 23 games of the season because of post-concussion syndrome.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli confirmed Savard's status in a release Monday.

"After being examined by the Bruins medical staff today, Marc has been diagnosed with a moderate concussion," the release read. "There is no timetable on his return and no further updates at this time."

Savard had been battling the effects of a concussion sustained March 7, 2010, after a hit to the head by Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke. He missed the remainder of the 2009-10 regular season and did not return to the Bruins' lineup until the first game of the team's second-round playoff series with Philadelphia.
