Hamilton to decide stadium location for Pan Am Games

The City of Hamilton will be able to make its own decision as to where the 2015 Pan Am Games stadium will be located.

Two Liberal members of the Ontario legislature said Friday that the federal government wouldn't fund a new stadium at the West Harbour site.

But over the weekend, federal minister Gary Lunn said the location of the stadium is still a decision for Hamilton to make and that funding from Ottawa is not contingent on a specific location.

MPPs Sophia Aggelonitis and Ted McMeekin also clarified that provincial funding is not tied to a specific location.

City councillors will choose the stadium location when they meet Tuesday.
