Montreal awarded 2008 Grey Cup
The Montreal Alouettes will host the 2008 Grey Cup, marking the eighth time the Canadian Football League championship has been held in the city.
The Canadian Football League championship will stay in the East after being contested in Toronto in 2007.
League commissioner Tom Wright announced Friday that the 2008 Grey Cup will be held at Olympic Stadium in Montreal on Nov. 23.
It will mark the ninth time that the Quebec city has hosted the game.
A crowd of 65,255 took in the 2001 Grey Cup in Montreal, won 27-19 by the Calgary Stampeders over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The 94th Grey Cup takes place in Winnipeg on Nov. 19.
Temporary seating at Canad Inns Stadium will bring capacity between 41,000 and 50,000.
