Glenn earns CFL weekly award
Quarterback Kevin Glenn, who led the Hamilton Tiger-Cats past the Toronto Argonauts on Monday, was named the CFL's offensive player of the week Wednesday.
Glenn finished 27-of-33 passing for 313 yards and a touchdown in Hamilton's 28-13 home win over Toronto.
The victory was Hamilton's fourth straight.
Calgary Stampeders receiver Romby Bryant was also nominated for the award.
Calgary defensive back Brandon Smith was the top defensive player.
Smith had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown in the Stampeders' 52-5 win over the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday.
Defensive back Korey Banks of the British Columbia Lions was a finalist.
Hamilton linebacker Markeith Knowlton was a unanimous pick as top special-teams player.
Knowlton registered a blocked punt and recovered it in the end zone for crucial TD that staked the Ticats to a 20-6 half-time lead over Toronto.
Knowlton is the first CFL player this season to record two blocked kicks.
Hamilton slotback Dave Stala is the top Canadian for the third time this season.
Stala had seven catches for 90 yards, including at 15-yard TD grab, against Toronto and is the first three-time weekly award winner this season.
Calgary running back Jon Cornish was also considered.
