Toronto Argonauts running back Cory Boyd was named the CFL's offensive player of the week on Tuesday.

Boyd, who leads the CFL with 648 yards rushing this season, scored three touchdowns and rushed for a career-high 164 yards in Toronto's 29-28 win over the Edmonton Eskimos last week.

Boyd celebrated his 25th birthday in style by scoring the winning touchdown with 22 seconds remaining in the game to help the Argos secure their fourth victory of the season.

Montreal Alouettes linebacker Chip Cox was named the defensive player of the week. Cox recorded a game-high eight tackles and made two interceptions to help the Als post a 30-26 victory over the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Montreal's Tim Maypray won the special teams player honour.

Maypray scored a key touchdown for Montreal after scampering 118 yards to the end zone following a failed field goal attempt by Saskatchewan's Luca Congi late in the second quarter.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats receiver Dave Stala was named the top Canadian.

Stala made four catches for 59 yards with one touchdown in the Ticats' 29-22 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
