Cavaliers end Cleveland's 52-year championship drought

The Cleveland Cavaliers made history in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. The last time the city earned a championship was in 1964 when the Browns won the Super Bowl.

Cleveland becomes the first team in NBA Finals history to comeback from a 3-1 series deficit to win the championship.

Cleveland's long-standing sporting curse has finally been broken. The Cavaliers are bringing home an elusive championship, becoming the first professional sports team from Cleveland to do so in over 50 years.

LeBron James and the Cavaliers had a lot riding on Sunday's Game 7:



Pressure is a privilege for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they not only brought home a title but they also became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit in their victory over the Golden State Warriors. 



 It took the Cavaliers a little while to decipher Warrior poetry...


But it was better late than never as the Cavaliers overcame adversity once again.

And while all eyes were on King James— he did exactly what he said he would do and more. Not only did LeBron end the Cleveland curse, he unanimously won the NBA Finals MVP.
