Arnd Peiffer has won the men's 10-kilometre sprint race in Anterselva, Italy, capturing his first biathlon World Cup victory of the season.

The German had no misses and finished in 24 minutes 27.4 seconds on Saturday to beat Dominik Landertinger of Austria by six seconds. Germany's Christoph Stephan also shot cleanly and finished third, 15.1 seconds back.

Evgeny Ustyugov of Russia settled for 48th place but kept his overall lead with 412 points.

Simon Fourcade of France finished 14th to move up into second overall, 17 points behind Ustyugov.
