Music makers share their stories and songs

Our music makers are some of our best storytellers. And over the past year we have had many musicians, singers and performers visit us here on Radio Indigenous to share their gifts and the stories behind their songs.
Murray Porter is a Mohawk blues pianist who won Aboriginal Album of the Year at the 2012 Juno Awards. His song Is Sorry Enough? is a tribute to Indian Residential School survivors. (Facebook)

Music is perhaps the one thing that is truly universal. It touches, connects and changes us.

For Indigenous peoples, music, whether it's drums, rattles or songs are spiritual. It is how we connect to creation in ceremony. But we also have mad skills on the powwow trail and the dance floor!

Our music makers are some of our best storytellers. And over the past year we have had many musicians, singers and performers visit us here on Radio Indigenous to share their gifts and the stories behind their songs.

Today on Unreserved, we revisit some of our favourites.
